Web Development

Websites and web apps, built properly.

Based in Stoke-on-Trent, working with businesses across the UK. Every site is written in code by the person you speak to.

What I build

Marketing sites that load quickly and read well on a phone. Internal tools that replace the spreadsheet everyone is quietly afraid of. E-commerce, booking systems, customer portals - the kind of thing that needs to work on a Monday morning without anyone thinking about it.

The common thread is that it is built rather than assembled. No drag-and-drop page builder, no theme bought from a marketplace and bent into shape, no stack of plugins each adding a second to your load time.

How it works

1. A conversation about scope

You explain what the site needs to do. I tell you what that involves, what it will cost, and - where relevant - which parts you do not actually need. Scoping honestly at this stage is cheaper for both of us than discovering it halfway through.

2. Design and build

You see the design before it is built, and you see the build before it goes live. Changes at the design stage cost nothing; changes after launch cost time.

3. Launch and handover

The site goes live, you get everything - the code, the hosting details, the domain configuration. Nothing is held hostage to keep you on a retainer.

Why work direct

An agency puts an account manager between you and the person writing the code. That layer costs money and loses detail. Working direct means the person who answers your email is the person who understands the answer.

  • One point of contact, start to finish.
  • Fixed scope and price agreed before work begins.
  • No mark-up on subcontracted work, because there is none.
  • Replies within one working day.

Common questions

How much does a website cost?

It depends on scope. A small marketing site is a fixed price agreed up front; larger applications are quoted per project after a scoping conversation. You get the number before any work starts.

Do you work with businesses outside Stoke-on-Trent?

Yes. Web development is done remotely for clients anywhere in the UK. Only on-site IT work is limited to the Stoke-on-Trent area.

Do you use WordPress or a page builder?

Not by default. Sites are written in code, which keeps them fast and avoids plugin bloat. If a content-managed site genuinely suits your team better, that gets discussed openly rather than assumed.

Will I be able to edit the site myself?

If you need to, yes. Content management is scoped in from the start when it is wanted, rather than bolted on afterwards.

Tell me what you need building.

Describe the project in a couple of lines and I will come back with an honest view of scope and cost.
